July 2007 - Grandkids Summercamp

Each summer, my parents plan a grandkids summer camp, which usually lasts 3-4 days. It is a chance for all of the cousins to get together and spend time with one another. It's also nice for my parents to reconnect with their grandchildren. This year, some of the family came from Boston, Iowa City, and Cedar City, Utah.

Each year there is a theme - this year it was pioneers. All activities are planned around this theme and the children receive a shirt with the year and theme on it. We always have a great time being with everyone. This year we learned about pioneers from our family and even took a hike up to Ensign Peak in SLC.

Even though this event is a huge stress for my parents, I'm so thankful they've planned these camps. Not only are our children closer to their cousins because of this annual event, but we have a greater appreciation for family and the importance of maintaining these important relationships.
